PDI-P politician Aria Bima has urged the public not to interpret the upcoming meeting between PDI-P Chairperson Megawati Soekarnoputri and President Prabowo Subianto as a signal for a coalition. According to Aria, this meeting underscores that Megawati does not have any personal issues with Prabowo. "This is merely a meeting between the two; I perceive it should not be framed as a coalition discussion," Aria stated at Gelora Bung Karno, Jakarta, on Sunday, January 12, 2025. Aria emphasized the friendship between Megawati and Prabowo, noting that both are leaders of political parties. He asserted that they do not have personal conflicts, especially since both have successfully led their parties to victory in the 2024 elections. "They share a camaraderie as leaders. Chairperson Mega, who heads the PDI Perjuangan and won the legislative elections, and Mr. Prabowo, the leader of Gerindra, who won the presidential election, have no issues between them; in fact, they are friends, even engaging in diplomatic discussions over fried rice," explained the Deputy Chair of Commission II of the DPR. Consequently, Aria called on all parties to allow Megawati and Prabowo to meet without linking it to political party stances. He believes that such a meeting is a positive development and is likely to yield beneficial outcomes for the nation. "In my opinion, I am confident that (Megawati and Prabowo) will meet. If this meeting occurs, it will foster a connection of hearts and minds between Chairperson Mega and Mr. Prabowo," Aria remarked. "Mr. Prabowo will understand Chairperson Mega's position, as she supports presidential candidates Mr. Ganjar and Mr. Mahfud, who lost to Mr. Prabowo. Mr. Prabowo will comprehend this, and Chairperson Mega will also understand," he added.
