Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has departed for Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, following the completion of his state visit and participation in the 76th Republic Day celebrations of India. According to a statement from the Presidential Secretariat on Monday, January 27, 2025, Prabowo, accompanied by a limited entourage, took off from Air Force Station (AFS) Palam in New Delhi on the evening of January 26, 2025. Among those present to bid farewell were the Indian Ambassador to Indonesia, Sandeep Chakravorty; the Indonesian Ambassador in New Delhi, Ina Krisnamurthi; the Defense Attaché of the Indonesian Embassy in New Delhi, Rear Admiral Ardiansyah Muqsit; India's Minister of State for External Affairs, Pabitra Margherita; and the Director for South Asia, Ashish Kumar Sinha. Yusuf Permana, Deputy for Protocol, Press, and Media at the Presidential Secretariat, stated that Prabowo's visit to Malaysia is part of a series of overseas working visits. He expressed hope that this visit would strengthen the bilateral relations between Indonesia and Malaysia. "The visit of President Prabowo to Malaysia is a state visit, and one of the significant moments during this visit will be the conferment of the Darjah Kerabat Johor Yang Amat Dihormati Pangkat Pertama (D.K I Johor) to President Prabowo. This award is one of the highest honors bestowed by the Johor Sultanate to a head of state," Yusuf remarked. "President Prabowo will be the seventh foreign leader to receive this honor, following in the footsteps of President Suharto, who received a similar award in 1990," he added. In addition to the state visit, Prabowo is also scheduled to hold a meeting with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. "The President is also scheduled for a limited meeting with Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim," Yusuf disclosed. Prabowo and his entourage are expected to arrive in Kuala Lumpur on Monday morning and will immediately commence their official agenda in Malaysia.
