The seventh President, Joko Widodo, has expressed his desire to establish a super open political party (Tbk). This idea was first articulated during an interview with Najwa Shihab, which aired on her YouTube channel on February 11, 2025. The former Mayor of Solo indicated that the concept of a super Tbk party resembles that of a public company, designed to be inclusive of all societal groups. Recently, Jokowi mentioned that this idea is still under development. "Yes, it is still being refined," he stated when approached prior to his departure to Adi Soemarmo Airport from his residence in Sumber, Banjarsari, Solo, Central Java, on February 14, 2025. Jokowi further elaborated that the formation of the super Tbk political party is still being evaluated. He noted that it is uncertain whether his aspirations will come to fruition. "It is still being calculated, still under consideration. It is not guaranteed to be realized," he remarked with a smile. Currently, Jokowi is no longer affiliated with any political party after being dismissed from the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle on December 16, 2024. Alongside Jokowi, the party also expelled his eldest son, Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, and his son-in-law, Bobby Nasution, who was elected Governor of North Sumatra. Regarding the super open party, Utje Gustav, the Chairman of the Jokowi Presidential Volunteer Group (Bara JP), explained that the President's vision for the super Tbk political party is akin to a cooperative. Utje emphasized that Jokowi aims to enhance public participation within the political framework. "The super Tbk political party is like a cooperative owned entirely by its members. Currently, it resembles a company controlled by a select few," Utje conveyed via telephone to Tempo on the evening of February 13, 2025.
