Prabowo Conducts A State Ceremony To Welcome The Secretary-General Of The Communist Party Of Vietnam

President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, is set to receive the Secretary-General of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV), To Lam, in a state ceremony followed by a bilateral meeting at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Monday afternoon, March 10. 

Yusuf Permana, Deputy for Protocol, Press, and Media at the Presidential Secretariat, announced that President Prabowo is scheduled to welcome Secretary-General To Lam at approximately 4:30 PM WIB. 

"Secretary-General To Lam will be greeted with a state ceremony, which will be followed by a tête-à-tête meeting between the two leaders," Yusuf stated in an official release received in Jakarta on Sunday. 

Following the face-to-face meeting between President Prabowo and Secretary-General To Lam, the agenda will continue with a bilateral meeting involving delegations from Indonesia and Vietnam to discuss strengthening cooperation in various strategic areas. 

As part of the event series, President Prabowo and Secretary-General To Lam will hold a joint press conference to convey the outcomes of their meeting to the public. 

The Palace has also extended an open invitation to the media to cover the state ceremony welcoming Secretary-General To Lam at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta. 

In addition to the state reception and meeting at the Presidential Palace, Secretary-General To Lam is also scheduled to meet with the Chairman of the MPR RI, Ahmad Muzani, the Chairwoman of the DPR RI, Puan Maharani, and the Chairman of the DPD RI, Sultan Bachtiar Najamudin, at the Nusantara Building, Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, as well as with business leaders. 

According to gathered information, Secretary-General To Lam and his wife, Ngo Phu'o'ng Ly, arrived at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base in Jakarta on Sunday afternoon for a state visit marking 70 years of bilateral relations between Indonesia and Vietnam. 

To Lam's visit to Jakarta will take place from March 9 to 11, 2025, and it is the first since he assumed the role of Secretary-General of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
