President Prabowo Subianto led a limited meeting with a number of ministers of the Red and White Cabinet at the Hambalang residence, Bogor Regency, West Java, Sunday, to discuss the acceleration of downstreaming and review projects that have an impact on job creation. Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of BKPM Rosan Roeslani explained that in the limited meeting, President Prabowo instructed that downstreaming projects that create the most multiplier effects be prioritized. "We analyzed everything, and we ordered which projects have a positive impact, especially in the field of job creation. That is one of the main parameters that we looked at earlier," said Rosan in an official statement via the Presidential Secretariat YouTube account which was watched in Jakarta, Sunday. Rosan explained that his party together with related ministries had inventoried a number of downstreaming projects in the mineral, coal, aquaculture, agriculture, and plantation sectors. A comprehensive analysis was carried out to determine the priority of projects that could provide maximum benefits for the economy and public welfare. Rosan added that downstream projects are also assessed based on their contribution in reducing imports, increasing exports, and strengthening the competitiveness of the national industry. President Prabowo also requested that downstreaming not stop at the initial stage, but become the gateway for a broader industrialization process. Not only oriented towards the macro economy, downstream projects are also directed to involve shrimp farmers, plantation farmers, and the surrounding community, so that their welfare also increases. "We can also see which industrialization we prioritize, and if possible this also involves farmers, both farmers from the plantation sector itself, and also how it can create economic growth throughout society," said Rosan. Meanwhile, the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia explained that the meeting also followed up on the President's decision regarding the implementation of 21 priority downstream projects. President Prabowo gave direction for these projects to prioritize labor absorption, combine technology with labor-intensive, and prioritize import substitution industries. "The President instructed us that the implementation must be truly professional and have high economic value," said Bahlil.
