President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to visit the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Batang, Semarang, Central Java, on Thursday. This initiative represents the realization of investments stemming from the Two Countries Twin Parks (TCTP) collaboration with the authorities of Fujian, China. "This partnership between Indonesia and Fujian aims to promote industrial investment in the special economic zone in Batang, with plans for an investment of approximately IDR 16 trillion," stated Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto on Tuesday, March 18, 2025. Airlangga noted that this investment had previously been discussed between Prabowo and Chinese President Xi Jinping. Therefore, this working visit serves as a follow-up to that meeting. Additionally, during the meeting, Airlangga extended an invitation to the president regarding the development project for the expansion of the SEZ in Nongsa, Batam, Riau Islands, which is related to a data center investment project. Furthermore, Airlangga mentioned an invitation for a visit to the Singhasari Special Zone in Malang, East Java, where investments from King's College, London, have already been established. "In the future, Queen Mary University will also join the Singhasari economic zone, as part of the Russell Group (an association of universities). These are some of the developments that will be presented during the president's visit," Airlangga added.
