Bahlil On Prabowo's Message Asking For Closer Ranks: Nothing

Thursday, 24 Apr 2025

Golkar Chairman and Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia claimed that the relationship between ministers in the Red and White Cabinet led by President Prabowo Subianto is running smoothly and well.

He conveyed this when responding to a statement about the Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment and PKB Chairman Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin who admitted that Prabowo called him to close ranks.

"It's fine, nothing," said Bahlil at the Pullman Hotel, Jakarta, Monday (21/4) night.

Bahlil claimed that the relationship between President Prabowo's aides was also seen when a cabinet meeting was held.

"It's normal. Just a normal meeting," he said.

Previously, Cak Imin said that Prabowo conveyed the message via telephone because he was unable to attend the Halal Bihalal event at his residence, on Sunday (20/4) night.

Cak Imin said that Prabowo congratulated him and apologized for being unable to attend. Prabowo, he said, also asked all his ministers to close ranks.

"The President called me, conveyed a halal bihalal greeting and asked fellow ministers to continue to close ranks," he told reporters at his residence.

Palace Spokesperson Prasetyo Hadi also denied that Prabowo delivered the message because there was a rift between the Red and White Cabinet ministers.

"There is no rift," he told reporters at the State Palace, Monday (21/4).

Prasetyo explained that so far the President has often compared the Red and White Cabinet to a team. Therefore, he said the meaning of closing ranks was a general message and was usually conveyed by the President.

"The President always compared the Red and White Cabinet to a team. Yes, we must continue to close ranks. So the meaning of closing ranks is not always when something is going on, but it is to maintain morale," he said.
