Prabowo's Five-Minute Call And The Directive To 'Consolidate The Ranks' For The Cabinet

During a gathering of ministers, deputy ministers, and political elites engaged in a post-festivity meeting at his official residence, Muhaimin Iskandar stepped aside to a corner of the room. The Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment took the mobile phone of Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, which was handed to him, and spoke with President Prabowo Subianto using that phone. The conversation lasted less than five minutes before he rejoined his guests around 9:00 PM on Sunday, April 20, 2025.  

Most of the attendees were fellow members of the Red and White Cabinet, including Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, Minister of Education and Culture Abdul Mu’ti, Minister of Religious Affairs Nasaruddin Umar, Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf, Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya, and Minister of Tourism Widiyanti Putri. Additionally, Deputy Minister of Social Affairs Agus Jabo, Deputy Minister of Manpower Immanuel Ebenezer, and Special Presidential Envoy Raffi Ahmad were also present.  

Furthermore, several members of the House of Representatives and political party elites attended the post-festivity gathering held more than three weeks after Eid 2025. Notable attendees included Deputy Speaker of the House and Daily Chair of the Gerindra Party Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, Deputy Speaker of the MPR and Deputy Chair of the National Mandate Party (PAN) Eddy Soeparno, as well as Gerindra Party members in the House, Ahmad Dhani and Mulan Jameela. Even the 13th Vice President of Indonesia, Ma’ruf Amin, was present at the event. 'If I am not mistaken, there were a total of 17 ministers and deputy ministers that night,' said Syaiful Huda, Chairman of the Central Executive Board of the National Awakening Party (DPP PKB), who was also in attendance that evening, to Kompas on Tuesday, April 22, 2025. However, Huda noted that throughout the event, Muhaimin did not utter a single word regarding his phone conversation with President Prabowo, and the guests present were unable to hear the content of their discussion as the phone's audio was not amplified.
