The Head of the Government and Regional Autonomy Division of the Central Leadership Council of the PDI Perjuangan, Ganjar Pranowo, is actively engaged in the field to support the election of all PDI Perjuangan candidates participating in the 2024 Regional Head Elections, both at the provincial and district/city levels. On Friday, in Malang City, East Java, Ganjar announced that he has scheduled a series of visits to various regions to meet with each prospective regional head candidate from PDI Perjuangan. "I have begun my roadshow today in Malang, and tomorrow I will continue to Surabaya, followed by Makassar and Jakarta," Ganjar stated. He emphasized that this initiative is part of his commitment to ensure PDI Perjuangan candidates secure positions as regional heads. "I must be prepared to support all candidates from PDI Perjuangan," remarked the Governor of Central Java for the 2013-2023 term. The registration period for the 2024 regional elections will be open for three days, from Tuesday, August 27, to Thursday, August 29. The General Election Commission (KPU) will also conduct the candidate eligibility verification process from August 27 to September 21, 2024. The voting phase is scheduled for November 27, followed by the vote counting and the compilation of results, which will take place from November 27 to December 16, 2024. It is noted that Ganjar Pranowo previously ran for the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres) alongside Mahfud Md as his vice-presidential candidate. The 2024 Presidential Election features three pairs of candidates: Anies Baswedan and Muhaimin Iskandar as the first pair, Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka as the second pair, and Ganjar Pranowo and Mahfud Md as the third pair. The final vote tally from the General Election Commission (KPI) of the Republic of Indonesia declared the Prabowo-Gibran pair as the winners of the 2024 Presidential Election, securing 96,214,691 votes. In contrast, the Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar pair received 40,971,906 votes, while the Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud Md pair garnered 27,040,878 votes. The total number of valid ballots amounted to 164,227,475 votes.
