The formal inauguration of the members of the House of Representatives (DPR), the Regional Representative Council (DPD), and the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) of the Republic of Indonesia for the 2024-2029 term took place on Tuesday (1/10), at the DPR/MPR building in Senayan, Jakarta. 580 representatives from eight political parties and 84 electoral districts were reportedly sworn in as members of the DPR for this legislative period. The outcomes of the 2024 legislative elections reveal that the DPR for the 2024-2029 term consists of eight factions from parties that exceeded the parliamentary threshold of 4 percent. These parties are PDIP, Golkar, Gerindra, PKB, NasDem, PKS, Demokrat, and PAN. The distribution of seats is as follows: PDIP holds 110 seats, Golkar has 102 seats, Gerindra occupies 86 seats, NasDem possesses 69 seats, PKB has 68 seats, PKS holds 53 seats, PAN contains 48 seats, and Demokrat comprises 44 seats. The swearing-in ceremony for the members of the Indonesian House of Representatives for the 2024-2029 term is conducted by the interim Speaker of the House, who is selected from a group of six representatives, including both the youngest and oldest members of the assembly. The three youngest representatives in the House of Representatives, ranked by age, are: - Annisa M.A. Mahesa (23 years old) from the Gerindra Party faction, representing the Banten II electoral district. - Muhammad Rohid (24 years old) from the Gerindra Party faction, representing the Riau II electoral district. - Cindy Monica Salsabila Setiawan (24 years old) from the NasDem Party faction, representing the West Sumatra II electoral district.
