The Minister of State-Owned Enterprises, Erick Thohir, is focused on improving the communication skills of employees in state-owned companies regarding the use of digital technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI). He organized a workshop titled "Navigating the Future of Social Media with AI Technology." This event, held on January 3-4, 2025, served as a platform for sharing knowledge and inspiration, discussing the latest trends in social media increasingly influenced by AI technology. Over 100 participants from various state-owned enterprises enthusiastically took part in the workshop. Special Staff to the Minister, Arya Sinulingga, emphasized the importance of keeping up with the times by utilizing technology. "Today, AI makes our work easier and faster. Starting this year, we will learn more about technology, and we hope all state-owned enterprises can promote government programs and the President's vision," he stated. Arya Sinulingga also highlighted the need to create effective communication narratives and campaigns to meet public expectations for sustainable development. "As communicators for advancing state-owned enterprises, you need to understand the programs, identify what needs promotion, and what requires innovation. We will find ways to enhance communication with the ultimate goal of boosting Indonesia's economy," he added. Padang was chosen as the first city for this series of workshops. The event took place at The ZHM Premiere and was made possible through collaboration between the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises and companies like PLN, Pertamina, KAI, BTN, Danareksa, SIG, and Pupuk Indonesia. PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG), a leading building materials provider in Indonesia that adapts to technological advancements, supports the Ministry's initiative to realize President Prabowo's vision through the use of AI-based communication technology. SIG Group sent seven employees to participate in the workshop. Corporate Secretary of SIG, Vita Mahreyni, expressed gratitude to the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises for initiating a workshop on the use of digital technology and AI in social media communication for SOE employees. SIG recognizes that AI technology can greatly benefit the company's positive image, ultimately contributing to its performance. "AI technology has significantly changed many aspects of modern life. In communication, AI can be an effective tool for conveying positive messages about the company to the public and stakeholders, and it can also enhance marketing activities through digital channels. I hope this workshop greatly improves the communication skills of SOE employees on social media," said Vita Mahreyni. The workshop included several sessions, one of which featured a sharing session by Danang Prakoso from Mediatics Digital Indonesia, discussing how AI is transforming the way content creators and brands engage with their audiences, from idea generation to scriptwriting. Siti Nur Aisyah and Vira Enjella also shared insights on enhancing engagement and managing human resources, as practiced at Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) under the BRI Creator Hub initiative. The event was attended by Ajrun Karim, General Manager of PLN UID West Sumatra, Eko Tjahjono, Manager of Freight Transport at KAI Divre II West Sumatra, M. As'ad Habibudin, Head of Public Relations at KAI Divre II West Sumatra, Iskandar Z. Lubis, Corporate Secretary of Semen Padang, Nur Anita Rahmawati, SM Communication of Semen Padang, and influencers from SOEs across West Sumatra, Riau, and the Riau Islands. Over two days, participants not only learned theoretical knowledge but also applied various materials provided by the speakers through group and individual workshop tasks. Additionally, participants were invited to visit the power generation assets owned by PLN Indonesia Power at UBP Teluk Sirih.
