China's National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), the country's leading economic planner, announced on Monday (24/6) that it will back the adoption of a new wave of advanced electronic devices, including wearable smart gadgets and AI-powered humanoid robots. The NDRC stated that it will actively promote the advancement of technologies like flexible screens, supercharging, AI assistants, and large-scale device models to enhance human-computer interaction. Furthermore, the commission emphasized its support for the utilization of smart wearables in various sectors such as communication, entertainment, sports, health monitoring, and mobile payments, as outlined in the newly introduced measures. The NDRC stated that China will additionally delve into the advancement of humanoid robots utilizing AI models. Furthermore, they will broaden the implementation of intelligent robots in tasks such as cleaning, leisure and recreation, elderly and disabled care, as well as education and training. The NDRC also emphasized the support for new production models like customization, personalized design, and flexible production. Moreover, promotional initiatives should be undertaken to enhance consumer awareness and market reach of smart products.
